He began his academic journey with a Diploma in Banking from MARA University of Technology (1994) and later earned a BSc in Business Administration (International Business) from Bowling Green State University, USA (1997). Driven by a passion to serve others through education, family business, and consulting, he pursued an MSc in Information Technology from Universiti Putra Malaysia (2001), a PhD in Management from City, St George’s, University of London (2007), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (2013).
Academic and Corporate Leadership
His career bridges academia and industry. He began as an Assistant Professor and Entrepreneurship Coordinator at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2009, nurturing future business leaders. In 2013, he was appointed CEO of IIUM Higher Education, leading institutional growth and industry partnerships. In 2014, he transitioned into the corporate sector as Vice President at Serba Dinamik Group Berhad, where he led education and talent development projects for six years.
In 2020, he returned to higher education as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UNIMY and later served as Interim Vice-Chancellor (2022–2023). Today, he serves as a Professor at Asia e University (AeU), where he teaches and supervises postgraduate students while supporting the APEL.Q (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Qualification) initiative, helping professionals earn accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees based on their real-world experience.
Research and Consultancy
His research has been published in international and Scopus-indexed journals, focusing on entrepreneurship, ethical leadership, and digital business transformation. He also supervises MBA students at the University of Gloucestershire, UK.
As a Business Consultant, he helps SMEs in mentoring and coaching, factoring concepts and processes (pre- and post-financing), financial literacy (Cashflow Game developed by Robert Kiyosaki), fintech and digital innovation, business turnaround, and green solutions.
Personal Interests
He is passionate about connecting with industry experts, helping underprivileged youth, and building sustainable education ecosystems. He also enjoys reading, traveling, attending scholarly events, and playing golf.
